Claudio borsato La verità nell'arte
Data inizio: 25 May 2024
Data fine: 16 June 2024
The exhibition in memory of Maestro Claudio Borsato will open on Saturday, May 25th, in the Villa Widmann Manor house rooms.
A master of art who left a significant mark on the artistic scene of Padua, Borsato dedicated his life to creative expression through painting. Enamored with the Masters of the past, his work is part of the "verist" painting trend, which particularly brings to mind the American Harnett, our Annigoni, and the Armenian Sciltian.
The exhibition, open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, will be accessible until Saturday, June 16th, following the usual access modalities to the Villa.
Biographical Notes:
Claudio Borsato was born in Padua in 1939. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice - Ettore Tito, in the Nude section - where he graduated under the guidance of Luigi Tito and Mariano Missaglia. He also earned a diploma of merit at the Academy of Illuminists in Catania. His figurative and hyper-realistic style is skillfully expressed through charcoal and sanguine drawing, but above all through the development of a refined painting technique that uses oil and tempera on canvas. These latter, combined with a thorough study of color, have distinguished his entire artistic career since its beginnings. He also showed interest in sculpture, experimenting with different techniques and materials, as well as mechanical devices for the execution of three-dimensional scale models. These means helped him in the realization of statues of various sizes, depicting various subjects, including allegorical ones, commissioned by various venues to embellish their interiors, in the provinces of Padua, Venice, and Treviso.
